Dr. Katherine Dahlsgaard is Founder and Director of Brave is Better LLC. She is board certified in cognitive and behavioral psychology and is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She focuses her efforts on the promotion of evidence-based psychotherapy via her clinical practice, speaking and writing, and consultation and training.
Dr. Dahlsgaard specializes in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety and related disorders. She was previously the Founder and Clinical Director of the Anxiety Behaviors Clinic (ABC) and the Picky Eaters Clinic in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Dahlsgaard also serves as a media expert, educator, writer, lecturer, and keynote speaker. She regularly writes columns for The Philadelphia Inquirer on topics related to mental health and serves on their Health Advisory Panel. She also serves on the NJ American Academy of Pediatrics Task Force on Teen Sleep and School Start Times. Dr. Dahlsgaard was the recipient of the Pennsylvania Psychology Association's 2017 Psychology in the Media award, the 2019 Friend of PA School Nurses Award, and the 2019 CHOP Psychology Internship Teaching Award.
As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Dahlsgaard is able to provide telepsychology services in the following states (client must be located in one of these states at the time of service): Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York.
She has also met all requirements for the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) and is able to provide telepsychology under the authority of PSYPACT in the following participating states (client must be located in one of these states at the time of service):
Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Virginia (effective 1/1/2021), and North Carolina (effective 3/1/2021).
